Thumbs up Cuban did well with DeAndre Jordan's contract

It's a good contract. He is only 26 years old and it's only a 4 year deal so he is still going to be in his physical prime. When cap increases you aren't going to be able to get C's like DeAndre Jordan in their prime for 20 mill a year.

You sure about that? 20m is about 1/4th of the 90m cap, that's big money to be setting aside for someone who just can't be the 'man' of a team. Great guy to have on the team no doubt, but someone has gotta lead em.

If he still can't make free throws, still can't post up, and can't score aside from put backs and lobs, then the Mavs ****ed up.

You don't need any O from him besides dunks, put backs, and lobs. As long as he dominates the boards and gives presence in the paint on defense then he is doing his job.

People really need to go and watch tape of Tyson Chandler and Brandan Wright when they were on the Mavs. Both of those guys routinely were getting dunks off of lobs from no names such as Barea and Devin Harris.

The Mavs had more dunks than any team in the NBA last year pre Rondo trade.....

On the Clippers where they have two guys who can score over 20 ppg, that would be fine.

But Deandre won't even be as good offensively with the Mavs as he was with the Clippers. The Clips had two great playmakers in BG/CP3 who were great at setting up DJ. He won't have that luxury in Dallas since their best playmaker was Rondo. If he's going to put up as many points as Tyson Chandler was, he'll have to be able to create his own shot.

And of course they can always force him out of the game with his free throw shooting. The Mavs might improve a little bit, but not enough to make them an actual contender. They are still a first round exit team with DJ.

He's one of those players that is valuable to certain teams, and not as valuable to others. He's worth max money on the Clippers, but not the Mavs. Same thing with Tristan Thompson. He can get away with just putting up layups, putbacks, defending, and getting massive offensive rebounds because the Cavs already have a ton of great scorers. Mavs have good scoring for sure, but they aren't gaining enough offense/defense from DJ to move them up a tier. They'll stay pretending.
