    Lightbulb Lakers Plan C

With 24 million to spend Lakers can still make it a successful offseason and field a competitive team if they acquire one or a combination of these players (via signing or trade):

Lamarcus Aldridge (Obviously ideal. Sure it's a longshot, but nothing's official until the dotted line is signed)

Roy Hibbert (2x Allstar, 28 years old, legit elite 7-foot rim protector. Was the 2nd most important player on a contending Pacers team and 2nd best center in the league just a few seasons ago)

Enes Kanter (19 PPG 11 REBs on 57% shooting, 23 years old)

David Lee (2x "20 & 10" Allstar with championship experience; averaged 18 & 9 on 53% shooting the season before when he was getting minutes)

Tristan Thompson (24 year old double-double machine, arguably the best offensive rebounder in the league, almost singlehandedly kept the Cavs in it last playoffs with his rebounding alone)

Josh Smith (another near "20 & 10" guy when he gets starter minutes. Pointforward skills, can stretch the floor from the 4 position. Was the main catalyst for the Rockets epic comeback against the Clippers. Still only 29 years old)

Louis Williams (6th Man of the Year last year, great one-on-one isolation scorer, can create for himself)

Besides that there are players who have been rumored to be on the trading block (Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried, Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan)

Plan C should be shopping around Nick Young. The Kings have a spot open at shooting guard.

    3 step plan

Step 1: sign one of the players OP mentioned....and bring in a center

Step 2: next season tell Kobe to either take a vet contract or walk away/retire.

Step 3: with the huge cap space....try to bring in a couple of stars

There's not much hope with Jim buss in control and Mitch thinking he's going to land a superstar..
Hopefully the rookies pan out, at least they're usually great at drafting

They must be waiting until no ones left in FA

When I'm applying for a job at Google, Google doesn't list A-M reasons why they should hire me.

I'm the one trying to sell them on why they should take me. And as much as I'd love to work for Google, I wouldn't go through those lengths (giving them too many reasons why they should hire me).

Do you see the tie-in with your post? Have the Lakers really fallen that low that they have to beg Lamarcus Aldridge with 87 reasons on why he should play there?

Right now the Lakers are like the recent college graduate begging to start their career ANYWHERE. "I'll do ANYTHING.. I'll give you ALL THESE REASONS... PLEASE just give me a job!!!!"

This. I'm glad a Laker fan can at least be realistic.

Enough with this "we're getting this superstar and that superstar" bull. Lakers aren't getting star free agents this year just like they didn't get any last year. There is no base, they're in a rebuild process.

The Clippers were trash and no one wanted to go there, and then they drafted Blake Griffin. After the league saw that he had promise, people started signing with them. The Lakers should shoot for something similar.

Hope that Randle blooms, hope that Russell is as talented as we think, and you might have something there. Then you have free agents wanting to play with that young talent, and you can finish the rebuild process. But no, you're not getting every player from both all star teams every single off season.

Aside from Kanter I wouldn't take anyone OP mention. And Enes is not coming here regardless...
