The terms and details of the settlement were not disclosed but NFL columnist Mike Freeman speculates the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback may have received between $60million to $80million in the agreement.

'Number NFL team officials are speculating to me is the NFL paid Kaepernick in the $60 to $80 million range,' Freeman of the Bleacher Report tweeted Friday afternoon.

Kaepernick filed his grievance against the NFL back in October 2017, accusing the league and its 32 teams of blacklisting him and preventing him from being signed in retaliation to his kneeling national anthem protest against police brutality.

I get all that, but he was a talented player, if he’d have worried more about his game he might could have still gotten another chance as a starter (injuries happen all the time) and possibly another fat payday. Could have salvaged a memorable career as a player and still had plenty of time to attention whore in retirement.

The fact that he tried so hard to get BACK in the nfl, even AGREEING to stop protesting if they would start paying him again tells me he regrets making an ass of himself this way.

That’s great he has a pile of cash now... but now what? He’s not articulate, intelligent, his message has no substance. He doesnt have NFL Sundays to kneel down and make idiots think he’s some kind of hero. His spotlight will fade very rapidly.
