Cavaliers coach David Blatt said LeBron James may not play again this preseason in attempt to keep the team's brightest star healthy while everyone else around him continues to limp.

"We're really happy with how LeBron came into camp," Blatt said. "He came in great shape, he's worked very, very hard, and we want to take good care of him for the start of the season.

"As you know, in his great and storied career, he has amassed a lot of miles, and we're trying to keep those preseason miles to a minimum. Thus the rest tonight."

LeBron James received an injection in his back this week and is unlikely to play again in the preseason.

James received a similar anti-inflammatory shot in January when he was shut down for two weeks and responded so well that the plan was always for him to have another one at some point.

By receiving the injection now, James is unlikely to miss any significant time.

James has dealt with back problems the last couple of years, although no one seems to think it

I can buy the injection simply being a precautionary device. He looked fine in both preseason games to be. Nothing like how he looked prior to his 2 week break last season.
