Default Swap Magic and Kareem's Lakers w/ West and Baylor's

Put the Showtime Lakers in the 1960s and the West/Baylor Lakers in the 1980s.

How many titles do Russell's Celtics win now?

Can West and Baylor finally win rings against the Celts?

Baylor led Lakers to the Finals 2 seasons before West was drafted.

    Interesting speculation.

Of course, when Magic and KAJ were playing, Kareem was nowhere near his peak (aside from their first year in the league together.)

Baylor and West lost an OT game seven in '62, and had a two point loss in game seven of the '66 Finals.

An 80's KAJ wouldn't be anywhere near a 60's Wilt, and we know that a PEAK Kareem really struggled against an aging Thurmond. So, it is likely a 60's Russell would have dramatically reduced an 80's KAJ, as well.

The real question would be...how much impact would a prime Magic have had on the rest of those Laker teams? He most certainly could have scored more in his 80's career, and he would have been asked to score more on those Laker squads, as well.

Can you name a 6-5 center from the 60's?

I can name a 6-6 guy that has started at center in the last few years, and a 6-7 center who won back-to-back DPOY's in the mid-00's.

How many "6-9" true PGs do you see in TODAY's NBA?

And why is a 6-0 PG in TODAY's NBA considered the best PG in the league?

Magic would probably average about 25/20/15.

He wouldn't come close to 20 rpg, and as difficult as assists were to come by in the 60's, 15 apg would be probably be a stretch.

25 ppg? Easily. But then again, he could easily have averaged that in the 80's, as well.
