Ironically, it's the white guy, Parsons, who had a "flashier" and more athletic style of play than guys like Ariza and Aminu, and as a consequence got overrated and overpaid.

He was statistically the 6th best defensive SF last season and is a really good rebounder. I don't think it's a surprise at how well he's playing given his natural talents, his contract status, and that he's finally got a great coach. Didn't he play for Del Negro & Monty Williams previously? Also, this is the best run ownership/organization he's played for, which I think makes a difference.

Wouldn't say he's surpassed Parsons overall though...

No, but Aminu has a great fit/role on the Mavs. Really hope we keep him. He will be huge next year...especially in the regular season.

He and Tyson must be brought back. Everyone else can go. I like Ellis, but he'll cost too much.
