Default Lakers begin 2014-15 season 0-5

The Lakers are now 0-5, after losing last night to the Suns. Kobe had 39 points, but on 37 shots. He didn't have much help, as is the usual case.

ESPN LA: Bryant's frustration burned through his postgame answers. What positive could he take from it? "Nothing," he said. The team is progressing at least from its earlier blowouts? "Big wow," he said. The team is closer to a win, perhaps? "Don't care. Doesn't matter. We've got to win these games," he said.

LA Daily News blog: The Lakers have lost all five games by an average of 14.8 points. They have ranked last out of 30 NBA teams in several defensive categories. Against Phoenix on Tuesday, the Lakers allowed 58 points in the paint and five double-figure scorers in Gerald Green (26 points), Markieff Morris (23 points), Isaiah Thomas (22 points), Goran Dragic (16 points) and Marcus Morris (12 points).

OC Register: The Lakers are now just two losses from tying the 1957-58 Minneapolis Lakers for the longest losing streak to start a season in franchise history. Bryant did his best to stop the Lakers skid, making a 3-pointer with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter to pull the Lakers within two.
