00s were some of the shittiest basketball years I've witnessed. Low-scoring, 1 on 5, selfish basketball.

I wasn't old enough to have seen it in context, bro. So I can't really comment. I was 4 in '89, and my earliest memories are the Bulls v.s. Pistons in the playoffs that year. From highlights, particularly the Celtics v.s. Sixers, Celtics v.s. Pistons, Lakers v.s. Pistons, and of course Lakers v.s. Celtics ... it was riveting stuff. Real physical, lots of great basketball fundamentals that are seemingly lost.

IMO, the '90 - '97 ish era is the peak of the game. No influx of athletic but unskillful, dumb HS players like early 2000s. No dead ball, ISO, wannabe Jordans out getting theirs, with little skill or value on team basketball. It had much superior big men, and physicality compared to '08 - current. And it had the best mix of athleticism, skills, wings and bigs, physicality, toughness, and intelligence.

I figured that's y u left it off. But yeah great points, early 90s is the best ball ive watched, but I was pretty young then so id say the past 5-6 years ive enjoyed the most.

'05 - '07 was a trasnitional period for the game with the rule changes, trying to get away from grind it out, boring, selfish basketball of the early 2000s. But there was some very entertaining performances. Since 2008 with the resurgence of the Lakers, and Celtics. Kobe trying desparately to hold onto the throne. The emergence of LeBron, and even though it rubs me wrong with the super teams. It's been very entertaining. It's just too "buddy-buddy", soft, and lack of quality big men.
