Thanks for exposing the fact that you not born yet (or were too young to comprehend anything...likely under the age of 6 or so) in 1996 when Kobe was coming out of high school.

Kobe did not get the hype that Lebron got (in fact, no one ever has in any sport) in high school, but he was certainly hyped up. He was going to be the first guard to ever be taken out of high school, his father was in the NBA, he was from Philly, etc...all this combined to make him a celebrity before even being drafted.
