Every season should be considered a "try" then. So a team who doesn't think they can win the finals should lose in the 2nd or 3rd round on purpose because they don't want their legacy tainted by a lost finals series?

It is something, all right. Something irrelevant. Nobody gives a crap about the all-star MVP. Pippen was drafted 5th overall. Granted, he was a bench player in his first year. After his breakout year, the Bulls started winning. Jordan is by far the greatest of all time, but a perimeter player cannot single handedly win a ring. How the hell is it cheating, if you switch teams during free agency? According to your "logic", Shaq, KG, Ray Allen, Wilt, etc. all cheats, as they joined superstars in other teams? It's not about the pressure. It's about a shitty franchise surrounding a superstar, a potential top 10 off all time player, with talent like Mo Williams and Boobie Gibson.
