Deron Williams said he talked to long-winded PJ Carlesimo about shortening halftime speeches “so we’d have a little more time to get warmed up.”
“It didn’t really work,” Williams said. “I just think it’s a mentality. Teams come out and I think they know we’ve struggled in thrid quarters and they come at us a little bit tougher and we’ve gotta do a better job of responding and fighting back.”

Actually the 3rd quarter woe has been getting better since PJ took over, especially in those early days we actually had 2nd quarter collapse but surged in 3rd quarter. I dont think it has anything to do with a particular quarter, the Nets just always allow the opponents to go on a run at an unpredictable time to dig a big hole. It can happen at anytime except for 1st quarter, when they usually start out well.
