Good day, Sir.

this makes no sense whatsoever. the actual lineup is:

Kidd
Kobe
Melo
Lebron
Howard

with a bench of:

Redd
Miller
Amare
Billups
Deron
Prince
Chandler

That's a whole lot different than Denver's roster.

A wise poster once said " If you are starting a thread make sure it will start with a very healthy discussion".

You are talking too much that you even said that this current spurs is a top 5 teams of all time. That is a flawed logic they are not even in the same league as the 1990's Chicago Bulls, 1980's Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, 1982-83 Philadelphia 76ers and 1994-95 Houston Rockets.

Kidd
Kobe
Melo
Lebron
Howard

Bench

Redd
Amare

That is the lineup it takes to just literally destroyed the competition with out dropping a single sweat.

Allball Im talkin about a 5on5 with 1 reserve player.. essentially a 6on6 game.

Spurs make it very competitive. Anyone talking about sweep is just foolish. Spurs win atleast 2 games.

bottom line is yes they can. when's the last time a team has fielded the defensive talent 3-deep of centers like Amare, Dwight and Chandler? Timmy would be beyond frustrated having 1-2 guys who are taller, stronger AND more athletic than him AND 2 of whom are defensive specialists on him at all times.

and then you have Kobe, who would be allowed to chill offensively a little, and if he can do that, he can hold Manu below 12ppg for the series. then you've got Chauncey Billups and Kidd taking turns on Parker- the 2 best defensive PGs in the game not named Hinrich.

Spurs would get pounded.
please....Billups and Kidd have no shot at guarding Parker...Timmy can score at will against all those guys you listed..and Kobe rarely ever guards Manu in the NBA regular season

FIBA team would kill the Spurs with NBA rules..Duncan would get in foul troublre and it would be over...The way the Spurs play defense Duncan would get into too many situations were he would be forced to make a play at the rim...With guys like Kobe, and Bron coming at you they are gonna get calls...then add in Amare who has shown he can score on Duncan as well...The FIBA team by 20 in an NBA game, as soon as Duncan gets in foul trouble its over...

As good as the defense is there is no way they could stop Lebron and Kobe at the same time, when there other options are AMare and Dwight finishing and there choice of great pgs to fit what ever need..

You saw who they guarded Bron in the Finals, you see how they guard Kobe in the regular season, how does that work with great shooters and finishers around them...
