Embiid>>>>

For those who are watching both guys, how have they been on the defensive end? Can either guy defend a position at a legitimate level in the NBA presently?

Wiggins is playing like absolute trash and with no confidence at the moment and he is still keeping up. It isn't going to be a race once he finds his feet and settles.

Could it be that he is absolutely trash and is merely playing at his skill level.

KD McDaniels is far ahead of Wiggins at this point. Wiggins is still winning due to hype.

Wiggins is softer than frozen yogurt on a hot summer day in Phoenix.

    LOL @ Lebron comparisons.

Until last night he was averaging 9 ppg on 31% shooting since that game. He's way too inconsistent right now, and for a number 1 pick he's shown flashes, but I gotta say, his lack assertiveness is disappointing. Thought he'd be better at that by now.

Lack of assertiveness is not as bad as lack of handles.

Superstar wings pound the ball and take up possessions. Wiggins plays like an off-ball role player because he can't initiate offense.

A skill like handles is something a rookie will develop later on in his career, not in his first month. Rookies adapting to the NBA game and showing consistency however usually happens in the first couple of months, but of course they hit a rookie wall eventually. So far Wiggins has disappointed me most in consistency than anything else. Physical skills can all be learnt later on.

You can't "develop" handles after 10+ years of basketball. You can only marginally improve them. Wiggins' handles are poor for a NBA SF right now. He'll be lucky to get his handles to average levels.

No matter how much Wiggins tries, he will never have LeBron handles. He will probably never reach Igguodala level.
