Javalee Mcgee will be the best big man in Asia in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
But he's not Asian or Filipino. He's a black American. Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having "Team Philippines"?

Citizenship Through Naturalization. Spain naturalized Serge Ibaka. Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon was also a Naturalized American Citizen.

Powerhouse teams like the US, Russia, and Spain naturalized players.

Yeah, I don't like those instances either. Naturalizing a player from another country for the sole purpose of having them play for your national team, which is supposed to be comprised of real citizens.

Ibaka spent time in Spain and knows the language, Hakeem spent 12 years in the US before becoming a citizen.
