2001 real* finals mvp = kobe bryant
( the finals wasnt a philly matchup... shaq coasted to an easy traphy against bums )

WCF:
Kobe faced Antonio Daniels and Avery Johnson
Shaq faced Tim Duncan and David Robinson
Finals:
Kobe faced Eric Snow and (?)
Shaq faced Mutombo aka the DPOY
Shaq's competition was better, by far.

youre pretty dumb eh?
shaq and duncan barely ever defended each other. duncan and shaq would have both fouled out
and if stats dont count cause of who defended you. then kobes the 2002 finals mvp. shaq vs todd ... kobe vs kidd/jefferson
fact* kobe outperformed shaq in the most important series. and overall in the first 3 rounds

Duncan took turns defending Shaq because of Robinson's ailments, hence the limited minutes.
Might want to re-watch that series again, bud.
BTW, I'm not saying Kobe's stats don't count. I'm saying Shaq faced better competition, and its not particularly close.

It is funny how nobody ever gives Shaq shit for having a teammate who averaged 30/7/6 in the playoffs, yet Kobe's teams in 09 and 10 were apparently so stacked he shouldn't get any credit
Double standards.

so because duncans elite defense half the time held shaq to 6 less ppg than kobe... that means he had the better series?
damn.. kobes 2004 series looks that much better now. shaq outperformed kobe. that must mean kobe had the better series due to facing tougher D
this f&cking idiot

Double standards.
"shaq was the MDE, so teams would double him, making the game easy for Kobe, thus his numbers werent impressive"
Thats your typical ish logic, but in reality, no one ever doubled off Kobe. and he still saw his fair share of doubles, as well. and during the lakers 2 peat year, teams would double or triple kobe, often times leaving odom or pau.

I'm saying he faced better competition. Nothing more. Nothing less.
You don't actually dispute that, do you?

That's a telltale sign of someone who doesn't understand basketball.

illegal defense was still a part of basketball back then. if a guy didnt have the ball. you couldnt double him. shaq would just pass out and repost every time a 2nd defender would come near him.
it was man to man 90% of the time back then. allot of iso's and clear outs with 1 post feeder and everyone on the opposite end or at the top of the key.
this is why you couldnt trap bigs back then and stuff the paint like you can now
different game. if shaq did what he did back then in todays nba with the new rules. i'd be more impressed
so dont act like shaq was splitting doubles all the time.

Correction, you couldn't double team somebody without the ball from the weak side.
