    Obvy.

    Injuries were to blame.

A healthy OKC squad for the whole year wins the chip this year comfortably, IMO.

I supposed Scott Brooks is more to blame here though, because he really doesn't run any offensive sets and everything just turns into ISO Russ.
yet the thunder had a top 5 offense in the games he played and bottom 2 in the games he missed.

exactly this, he is just not a very smart player and has a tendency to force plays especially in the crucial final minutes of a game. He threw away quite a few games like this.

Depends how you look at it. Westbrook really could have won one or two more games and made the playoffs had he played better.
Triple doubles are nice, but he was a turnover machine and shot lots of bricks.

But in reality OKC only missed the playoffs from his early season injury, so it's not really his fault.

They'd be a top 3 contender in the West imo.. With a healthy Durant and Westbrook shooting 12 percentage points better, they'd ring every single year until they both retired..

If he were to do all this AND do it with an entirely different dimension of athleticism that allowed him to literally triple his season dunk total, than OKC would be the GOAT team.. It would remind us of the 90's Bulls, only OKC would be better (Durant destroys Pippen obv).
