What is the attraction to the Dallas Mavericks?
Their PG sucks
Their SG is inconsistent
Their SF is fragile
Their PF is reeling
Their C is a shell of himself
Their bench is trash
Their owner is trash
Their coach is good with Hall of Famers
Their offense is lolable
Their defense is kekable
Houston is just superior in all ways, not even close.
Sweep.

Ridiculous amount of talent. It's like the Brooklyn Nets, everyone is waiting for it to click and it could click at any time. They have the tools to win vs anyone.
The only thing you're right about is their bench is kind of sub-par, but who knows Amare has done some shit. They need a good guard off the bench. We'll see if dudes can channel that old shit and become their former selves in the playoffs.
I think Beverly for Hou is a huge issue. He's a big part of that team. I am seeing now that he may try to come back, but you never know what you'll get out of him at that point, or if they'll last that long.

Their SG is inconsistent no doubt. could get hot for a series tho. works both ways.
Their SF is fragile ok, but handsome
Their PF is reeling still, you can't ever count out a legend from showing up for a series.
Their C is a shell of himself still trust him to at least slow down Dwight.
Their bench is trash yep. houston's bench is not that much better tho. especially without D-Mo and Bev.
Their owner is trash irrelevant
Their coach is good with Hall of Famers better than McHale
Their offense is lolable 5th in the league in OFFeff. better than houston's.
Their defense is kekable yep. they have nobody to guard harden either.
Houston is just superior in all ways, not even close.
Sweep.
Houston should be the favourite, but it's going at least to 6 games. I expect a close series. there are many x-factors on mavs' side that could suddenly click, which makes them dangerous - carlisle, dirk, playoffs Rondo, some guy getting hot, chandler locking up D12 etc. (see last season vs spurs).
plus, rockets need a plan B to harden ball. its easier to defend against in a 7game series.

Their plan B used to be the DMo post up. Now it's letting Corey Brewer loose and just have him run up and down the floor on every possession. It'll be a great shame if Houston loses him in the offseason, he's a great sparkplug and can (sometimes) create for himself.

Smith has also been useful, at times. His playmaking ability at his position causes matchup problems.
He's gonna be a good piece to bring back.

ok.
but on the other hand, as I said, mavs don't have any wing/perimeter defenders, so harden ball should be effective vs them. not sure whether mavs can slow harden down with team defense.

FALSE. Tyson Chandler had a great season. Played some of his best basketball this year.

They imploded the last quarter of the season. Rockets lucked out.

OH! Blocked By James!!
Re: What is the attraction to the Dallas Mavericks?
Mavs are a much better team than the Rockets. No floppers. No bitching. Just a good old-school team.
Dallas in 5. They couldn't have asked for a better team to face in the 1st round. Honestly, Houston is the worst playoff team in the west

Rondo and Aminu are above average wing defenders. And we haven't seen regular season Mavs utilize zone defense much. That same RC zone defense was a big part of their 2011 run.
Unless Harden gets '06 Wade treatment and gets to the FT line for 15-20 attempts a game, it's a tossup.
