The thing that tips it to Duncan's favor for me over the modern era perimeter guys was his defensive impact those couple years in his peak, which I don't think anyone except peak KG has approached in the past 15-18 years since the 90s centers.
Do not really disagree with anything you said, except for the fact that Wade ('09-
11), Kobe ('01-'03), and LeBron ('09-'12 -- minus the '11 Finals, obviously) were damn good defensively as well. Not TD good, but good nonetheless.

Ray Allen definitely gets 99% of the credit. Bosh gets the other 1% for the offensive rebound.
