Default Phil Jackson is washed up and wont accomplish anything with the knicks.

He was one of the greatest coaches, but every man has to learn that we loose our talents and ambition when we get older. Basketball players suck when they get older, so do coaches, so does every man that was great at something. Phil Jackson isnt changing the Knicks.

How is he washed up? He just coached the Lakers to the finals in '08, and back to back championships in 2009 and 2010. Pretty recent.

He's not coaching again. He's going to be sitting behind the scenes this time and putting together a team. Way easier than sitting on the sidelines coaching.

    This thread is stupid.

I wish Phil Jackson had come to the Bulls and replaced Forman. Bulls already have a great coach with Thibs, and they're more ready than the Knicks to potentially win a championship soon. Phil could have come to Chicago and this summer helped them sign a big star like Melo.

I don't think you know anything about life if your argument is centered around losing ambition as you get older/getting worse at everything when you're older. Someone is obviously 15. Do I really need to list people who got better with age or will you take the loss and move on?

I think he won't make as big a difference as knicks fans are making out

but at the same time how can a front office staff member be washed up? Did he go deaf or something? Can't he hear his scouts? Has his dialing speed decreased and he cant' use a phone anymore? Can't he read reports and memos?

Phil doesn't even want to be the President of this franchise nor make them better. He just joined for the absurd contract the Knicks foolishly offered him. That's really what forced him out of retirement, not the fact that the job was lucrative and available. Because of that, I can't see Phil making much of an impact.
