J.R. Smith feels Knicks camp is clean slate
J.R. Smith is looking forward to starting training camp without having to worry about his health or an impending suspension.

Many people feel this clown can't be reined in. Well, he has a chance here to prove me and many others wrong. He has some really great skills - we'll see if PJ can make a man out of him.

lets remember, there wont be as much dribble, dribble, double team, pull up from anyone anymore
more pass, pass, pass, shoot
jr shooting open jumpers , "A-OK" stamp of approval

How long has he been in this league? Who has actually ever reigned this fool in?
Its not impossible though and him maturing can only benefit the Knicks.

I agree with this principle in theory but any set or system can be broken for whatever reason... IE Kobe...

Woody did for while. If the team is together and playing okay he can play well again. Last year the team was a shambles and so a guy like JR is always gonna go AWOL in that situation.

You sure about this? How did that playoff run work out?

If ANYONE can control Earl, it's Phil. Either way, as I've said before, it's only year 1 in the rebuilding process.
Maybe we can send our friend el vato blanca to have a talk with him.
"Rebuild". As a long-time fan of the Knickerbockers, I still have some difficulty getting used to this word.
Time will tell. No concerns this year for me.

Don't be too sure about reigning this guy in. Some stallions have to be put to pasture.
This is actually the 2nd rebuild but the previous one netted the Knicks Stat and Melo.

You might be right, but no one in Knick management was calling it a re-build.

NBA rookie of the year

The Triangle requires an unselfishness and attention to details that I've come to NOT expect from JR Smith. This is quietly his last chance in the NBA to be a player of significance.

Agreed. In what I've seen the last 2 pre-season games, he's played OK offensively. But he still looks lost on "D" - and that won't bode well for him. I think PJ will try to offer him to a western conference team (if he hasn't already).
