Default Who are your Biggest Disappointments/Pleasant Surprises so far?

G- George Hill - Long underrated player playing incredibly well for Utah (when he isn't hurt - some things stay the same).

G - Kemba - WOW. Going for 25 ppg on .596 TS%, shooting >41% from 3. His team has been woefully injured and is STILL outperforming expectations. If they can hang on to the 2 seed he could be a MVP dark horse.

SF - Jimmy Butler - People thought Wade and Rondo were going to lessen his load. He has been the second best player in the East thus far.

PF - Giannis - He has always stuck out because of his length and athleticism. Still 21 its all coming together.

    Choose between these two players:
    Player A: 22.3 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 5.9 apg, 3.3 TOpg, 2.1 spg, 2.2 bpg, .493 fg%, .786 ft%, .505 eFG%
    Player B: 24.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.8 TOpg, 1.4 spg, 0.6 bpg, .476 fg%, .698 ft%, .507 eFG%.

B is LeBron at 22. A is Giannis at 21.

C - Dwight is BACK! HE has been OUTSTANDING so far this season. He is avg 2.7 more Reb per 36 min than his career best. He is providing rim protection again. And the Hawks have gone from a team losing its heart AND its starting PG to the #2 seed.

    Bench:

    Otto Porter
    TJ Warren
    Nick Young/Lou Will

These guys have taken big steps up in their game.

    Disappointments:

Jokic- Thought he was ready to break out after being arguably the best player (non-US anyways) in the Olympics. Instead, he has shown he cannot play the 4 and has lost his starting 5 spot to Nurkic.

Schroder - They traded Teague for a middling pick to give him a shot and he has been horribly disappointing thus far. Points/assists per 36 are down from last year. And his shot selection has Kobe up in arms.

I am really surprised at how much Andrew Wiggins has improved his 3 pt shot. Granted it's not exactly a huge sample size, and his percentage will probably drop to somewhere in the 40s, but that's still really good. It's rare to see a combination of elite athleticism and elite 3 pt shooting, and Wiggins seems to have that total package.

I'm also rather shocked by how well James Harden has transitioned into a PG role. I haven't really watched that many games, but 12 assists/game for a player who hasn't played PG for several years is amazing.

The biggest surprise so far has been Kyrie Irving. No one thought that this 24 year old kid would be ready to ball out on the big stage to the level that he has.

    That bolded is a mistake.
    Lebron at 22, 2007-2008 I assume?
30 PPG, 48% FG, 7.9/7.2 RPG and APG.

I always knew Nurkic was a better player than Jokic. Dude is such a powerhouse.

you named all the best ones. Little disappointed in the Pacers and Celtics so far since they were supposed to be in the top half the East but it's still early. Derozan might be one of this biggest surprises. This huge jump in scoring came from out of nowhere.
