Kanter is the bargain of the season.
All we had to give up was Kendrick Perkins and a couple of draft picks and got this stud.
21/12 since he joined Thunder....including 25/16/4 vs Lakers yesterday.

Like a red carpet under in the paint on defense.

Re: Kanter is the bargain of the season.

Isaiah Thomas for a low 20s pick was better

Re: Kanter is the bargain of the season.
Is he a bargain? He's gonna want money and was clearly holding the Utah Jazz back with his comically bad defense. He's a good fit for the thunder because they need a rim scorer but the Thunder defense has taken a huge step back since he got there.

Great college starter

Only good move Sam Presti has made in the last 5 years. Kanter trade was a Gary Payton inspired steal.

Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb would probably beast if they both played on teams like the Bobcats, Knicks, or Bucks. They would probably still keep Collison though because he's white, and has been there since day one. He's probably also a locker room type guy that everyone loves.

Re: Kanter is the bargain of the season.
He's been very impressive offensively, which we all know is his main skillset. His defense has been pretty awful, just as it was with the Jazz. Considering he's worst defensive C (horrid DPM) in the NBA that gets regular minutes, that might pose an issue. He & Gobert had -6.5 net rating/100 possessions when playing together...
This dude also wanted close to max dollars and probably expects to get paid this summer. He also can be a blackhole when he's moody, so there's that ego for Brooks to manage. Maybe a bargain price to acquire him, but he'll be pricey to keep around.
Then again, we were told on this board that Pleiss would be the next great Euro center back in August...

You mean Pleiss and Jerrett? Two "prospects" that weren't ever going to sniff the floor in OKC and, best-case-scenario, become solid 7th or 8th men on a decent team, if that? And Novak is making $3.75M next year. OKC is already likely going to be paying the luxury tax and his contract will be an expirer, so I'm sure he'll get dealt at some point anyway.
The trade has worked out wonderfully for both sides. When healthy, OKC doesn't need Kanter to be anything special on defense because OKC has the pieces already in place to mask a lot Kanter's defensive deficiencies. They badly need his low-post scoring ability and, now all of a sudden, he's actually turned into a decent and willing passing big. And it's obviously made Utah a better team. Same thing with the Reggie Jackson/Detroit trade. Somehow OKC was involved in a three team trade at the deadline that managed to workout pretty great for all three teams which almost never happens.
