Default Lakers needed that bad start to the season...

They hit rock bottom and got exposed in every way imaginable. They had the worst start to a season in franchise history. They had a historically bad defensive rating.

Now, they have seen the light.
Now, they have the recipe for success.

Kobe will take them to another Playoff appearance in his 19th NBA season. I'm predicting a 50-32 record now that the toughest part of the schedule is over.

It's sort of like the Patriots situation in the NFL. Team has a relatively bad start to their season and they get embarrassed in KC, media says Brady is done and they should start rebuilding, trade him & blow it up. Month and a half later, Brady is a top 2 MVP candidate and the Patriots are favored to come out of the AFC.

Now, Kobe does not have his Bill Belichick (Phil) alongside him to run the whole thing, but he might not need to. See, Kobe's basketball genius goes beyond our imagination. You see 20 missed shots in the box score, I see 20 assist attempts. His teammates are now figuring out how to make use of "the Kobe assist", and they're only going to get better, as Young learns to use the Kobe system ™ on a consistent basis.

    Thanks for listening.

If Kobe carries this piece of shit team to the playoffs, that'll validate his Top 5 all-time status. There's no way around it anymore.

    GAWD....be.

They're easily a playoff team, they're simply too talented to be as bad as they looked at first. They just weren't healthy, now they got most of their pieces back and they're rolling...

I'd pray for you if I were religious.

Stay strong, man. We've had our battles, but there are bigger issues at hand.

I know the OP is joking (I think), but I don't get why everyone's talking about the Lakers so much. Hell, I'm surprised they've already won 3 games with the schedule they've had. They were literally built to tank. Look at the roster...nothing but castoffs on one year deals.

Mitch Kupchak obviously didn't build this roster with the intention of making the postseason.

Following your logic, Lebron is better than Kobe having dragged a similar shit team not just to the playoffs, but to the Finals.

    Nope.

    That Dog wont Hunt.

Making it to the Finals in a garbage, barf bag ass conference < Making it in the stacked Top to Bottom West.

LBJ knows he can't hang with the Greats. Timmy is 2-1 against him, and Dirk is 1-0. He definitely doesn't wanna ever see Kobe in a Finals. Nor will Kobe see him.
