Default Bold Prediction : Roy Hibbert Defensive Player of the Year

This offseason he lost some weight, put up some good muscle, gained some speed.

Bold...the gentle synonym of absurd, moronic, idiotic.

He'll definitely anchor improvements to the Lakers' historically porous defense, but the last legitimate shot at him to DPoY-contend for the reward legitimately was probably two seasons ago.

In the wake of the Warriors' championship with small-ball-scheme team, that play-style to come into vogue and for more teams to be adoptive of it; if so, the plodding Roy Hibbert won't be agile enough to react well to floor-stretching big-men that are bound to become more ubiquitous in the game.

Moreover, with Byron Scott's ineffectual defensive schemes, Roy Hibbert won't be put in the best position to maximize his DPoY-contending defense, nor will it even be underscored because the Lakers won't tote the reputation of a defensive team for DPoY-voters to stay attentive to.

I do think people are underestimating Hibbert. Having a 7' guy in the middle who knows how to jump straight up is huge. His attitude is questionable, but on the right coach and with the right teammates he could be very valuable.

I don't think the Lakers are that team, though

I like what you try to do. But when you try to sound like the most intelligent/grammatically correct/whatever goal you're aiming for... at least do it right, and leave out obvious mistakes. That's the least you can do.

I gave up on him after the 0point/0assist game. I just don't get how a 7 ft player can have that happen. There is something wrong upstairs and if he's mentally fragile I doubt playing with Kobe helps.

He might lead in RPG or ORPG thanks to Kobe, even though his rebounding sucks. That says a lot about BrickBe.

the lakers will be terrible and part of it is because they are terrible defensively. So I don't see this happening. On a bad team like the lakers Hibbert's number should go up a little.
