Spurs road to the finals last year was much easier than the heats.

They played:

Lakers w/o Kobe
Warriors without Lee
Grizzlies who struggle to score (sweep)

That is honestly a much easier road than the Heat's current road (Bobcats, Nets, Pacers). Even last years was harder for the Heat (Bulls/Pacers)
