game 5 against boston was an absolute desaster, a joke of an offense.
last year's series against the heat was terrible basketball.
this has nothing to do with teammates, nothing with the opponent, only with his mindset. if you cant realize this, you're a blind stan.

He scored 70 points in the first 2 games vs Boston. We won the series too btw. The biggest reason Boston won 2 in a row was because of JR Smith's elbow and subsequent dismissal of Terry and the rest of the team, which inspired them to make it interesting. Were you really expecting to sweep Boston?

The Knicks wouldn't be were they are without Carmelo Anthony.

they are paying him a max contract, it's expected that he's integral part to team success.

Pretty sure when Melo was averaging 40ppg on 55% a couple games before that game 1, you weren't counting how many times he passed the ball

    sure i was.
was he playing iso ball then? no. in fact, the knicks went from 16% isolation plays per game in the regular season to 26 in the playoffs.
melo gets better shots off ball movement. it's simple as that.
there is a huge different in playing style between the great start of the season, the middle stretch and the 13 game win streak to end the season. it's the ball movement.

They are also paying Amar'e Stoudemire a max contract, and paying Tyson Chandler close to a max deal. Where are the threads about their legacy?

Basically Knicks only play iso when they lose, gotcha.

There's was ZERO difference on how Melo played game 1 and how he played in April, and like i said, you weren't whining about his passes then. He was shooting incredibly well, so game 1 he came out shooting, what's the big deal?

Go see Melo's assists average with and without Stat, i remember a couple of 5,6 assists games from him. Who do you want taking Melo shots? Chandler? He can't shoot, Felton? Shump? Prigi? lol Jr? You act like there's many options.

And let me address the iso bulshit, you must be one of those bball intellectuals that think that passing the ball around until there's 5 seconds left in the clock and someone is forced to go one on one, is different from someone getting ball with 24 seconds left and go one on one, guess what? End result is exactly the same. This isn't synchronized swimming, aesthetics are meaningless.

Go watch some spurs game, and watch Parker running screens and accomplish nothing and then be forced to, guess what, go one on one.
Go watch bulls games and watch how many time they go one on one, despite the fact they are a much better passing team compared to the Knicks playing with two pg's.

This iso bullshit is so annoying, Melo catching and shooting isn't iso? Why not? Because he didn't wave to his teammates before he took the shot?

I think the problem is that he played his kind of ball (heavy iso leading to pullups mostly) throughout the regular season with great success and it wasn't just his kind of game, it was the Knicks kind of game. Melo's iso was Woodson's number one offensive scheme which along with outstanding 3pt shooting by the rest of the team brought us to the 2nd seed.
Now here comes the Boston series and Melo tries to do the exact thing that he's been doing the whole season, unfortunately with a fvcked up shoulder you don't shoot well, but he kept shooting and chucking. Thanks to Felton and pretty decent defence we still won.
Indiana however is not Boston and the adjustments on offensive end had to come. We could see last night that he can share the ball well and still get 32 points. Yes, he did played like sh*t the first seven games, but he seemed to realise it and be more careful about his shot selection in game 2. Now was it just an exception or did he learn from his mistakes ? I honestly hope he learned his lesson and will play smarter from now on. We'll see.

man, you're so full of shit.
there is not a single problem with melo going one on one, but if he holds the ball for 5 seconds, the defense will load up on his side of the court. which means he goes against at least a double team... you dont see this? you know next to shit about basketball.
you gotta break down the defense first. melo has to make quick decisions; to shoot, to pass, to drive. if he lets the defense set, there go options two and three and we'll see the contested 18 foot pull-up jumper.
there's only ONE reason why people promote ball movement: to get the defense moving. the ball will come back to him. he'll get 20+ shots regardless. that's how you will find open looks.
but ok, you dont want to see it.

I enjoy watching Carmelo Anthony play but he just does not seem to have that it factor to lead a team.

Pretty sure the source of all the "ball movement" everyone was praising the Knicks during regular season, was Melo being double teamed, and Felton penetrating and dishing out, so i have really no idea what you are talking about.

I thought you were whining about iso's? You know that thing that makes it impossible to double team someone? Now the problem it's him being double teamed? What's next?
