Default Broussard: Howard Deal "Very close"

In an interview on ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike Friday morning, Chris Broussard said the Nets and Magic are already working on a trade that would send Dwight Howard to the Nets and that a deal is "very close to happening".

Broussard who broke news of Howard's intentions, said the deal, as he understands it, would be Howard for Brook Lopez and two first round draft choices, presumably the Nets two picks in 2012: their own' first round pick and the Rockets lottery-protected pick obtained in the Terrence Williams trade a year ago. Whether other players would be included remains uncertain.

I am ecstatic right now. Go Nets!

Wow. The Lakers are getting royally screwed. They have better talent to give Magic for Howard.

Lopez and two first rounders? Not enough.

Well the Lakers might get something out of this in that the NBA may allow the Paul deal to go through, if Dwight is ensured of not going anywhere near L.A.

I think that idea was what sent a lot of owners off, the idea that the owners were being asked to be pawns in some kind of Laker master plan to get CP3 + Dwight pissed a lot of people off.

4 hours and 23 minutes left until the players can officially sign with teams.

    Can't wait.

I disagree. Who is better between Lopez and Bynum? Toss up maybe given Bynum's durability. Better picks from the Nets and they can absorb a bad deal like Hedo's as well.

There are no good deals for Orlando if they trade Dwight, except getting Lebron or Rose in return.

They could probably ask for Bosh, but the meltdowns would be eppppppppppppic.

Nets better at least take one of Orlando's other shit contracts. Either way, takes em outta the PF market, which is cool with me.

So what happened to Howard wanting to go to the Lakers? Did he nix that after everything that went down with CP3? Cause I can't imagine him thinking this is a better situation and I also can't imagine the Lakers making that CP3 trade giving up all those big men without knowing Howard was coming. I could see him not wanting to go to the Lakers without CP3 because its an old team then and he wouldn't have a PG. I think he really wants to play with an elite PG. He'd always complain in Orlando that he didn't get the ball enough.
