Yea, there were already signs of trade between euros and china 1000 years ago. Also evidence of Chinese products in Viking settlements. Regardless, it's a fantasy movie so I'm not looking for historical accuracy.

The directors can also spin it off as the white dudes were captured slaves sold to some chinese merchants for a pound of silk or something.
