45 wins and went 28-12 in their last 40 (3rd best record in the league) despite..

    3 different head coaches
30 games missed from starting PG
30 games missed from starting PF
Staring center playing the first 45-50 looking like a complete shell of himself because of back surgery.
Best bench player/3rd best big missed the entire season.
    Back-up PG missed 50 games.

    Extraordinary job by Kobe.

If you're going to say he's top 50, then name the player you're bumping off the list then.

    Top 50? Maybe.
Led Lakers to a title and robbed of Finals MVP? Yes for sure.
    Most Underrated all time? No.

He was rejuvinated by the trade to the Lakers, and as OP mentioned was the most vital piece on two championship teams.

But after a few seasons, playing with selfish, me-first, me-star, me-hero Kobe took its inevitably toll, as it had previously on Shaq, and as it did on Bynum, and ultimately would on Howard, so he just kind of half assed it again like he did when he was unhappy in Memphis.

Pau is a very talented guy but the fact is he's a sulker. When he's not happy, he throws in the towel. Mind you, he was justifiably unhappy, but still could have played harder through it.

Those periods of decreased intensity definitely diminish him a bit when you start comparing him with other elite players.
It's hilarious to me how people like you spout this nonsense about playing with. He has been making close to 20 mill a year. If he's not playing hard that's on

I mean how is justifiably unhappy?
