Watch game 1 of the 09 finals and you'll see how bad Kobe's knee was. He looks totally unathletic.

I actually think LeBron had the best series. I think he faced the best opponent of the 3, even if young the Thunder was stacked. And James definitely faced the best individual player opposition KD > Dirk, Dwight, and it was @ his position no less.

I love Wade, but he doesn't deserve a lot of credit for that series in my opinion. The calls were so blatantly biased and bad - he was just living at the free throw line.

Kobe and LeBron both had great series in '09 and '12 - but I'd definitely give LeBron the edge here. His only disadvantage was scoring 3.8 fewer points per game, but Kobe shot 58/135 while LeBron was 51/108, while rebounding nearly twice as much, leading his team in the three primary stats, playing superior defense and dealing with a far greater matchup at his position (inb4 he shared the defensive assignment with Battier).

It's funny though how Michael Jordan had a three-peat in which all three of his finals performances were significantly better than the three being discussed in this thread. GOAT gonna GOAT.

    Kobe

Wade gave a remarkable performance in the 06' Finals. Unfortunately it has been (understandably) overshadowed at times by the officiating, but he played a great, great series.

Wade shot something like 65% for an entire series and didn't have a great supporting cast. Miami was stacked and nearly anyone could have replaced Lebron and won that season.

This. Wade had too much help from the refs. Maybe widen the gap between Lebron and Kobe cause of fg%.

That said, the 3 were great.

And Kobe's fg% only dipped by around 2% from his career average while he had the best AST-TO ratio out of the 3, averaging the same number assists as Lebron while averaging 32 ppg. Wade's ppg is impressive but he took 16 free throws a game , Kobe took 7 FTs a game and only averaged 2 less ppg while nearly having twice as many assists. I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it again, Kobe was the first since MJ in 91 to put up at least 30+ ppg 5+ rpg and 7+ apg in a Finals series, coupled with at least a steal and a block per game. How long will you keep denying him? Hurr durr he shot 43%, he shot better from 3 and from the FT line than Lebron and Wade.

Kobe took 2 less FTs a game than James and 9 FTs less per game than Wade, think about that for a second.

Kobe and Wade dominated their Finals more. Kobe opened the Finals up with a 40 point 8 rebound 8 assist 2 steal & 2 block game, he had 8 assists every game up until Game 5, where Lakers blew the Magic out (thanks to Kobe's run in the 3rd quarter).

This is how Kobe ended the series, check out the run the Lakers go on and how many of those plays were by Kobe or thanks to Kobe's efforts

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUE73GqyPuU#t=78

Miami's win in 2012 was a total team effort + James Harden disappearing + Westbrook sealing Game 4 for Miami...

Just watch each of the Finals, even the highlights (buckets) are enough to see who dominated the series. Kobe and Wade flat out dominated. Lebron played a great team role.

And? A jumpshooting Kobe Bryant hardly ever had situations in which he was facing Orlando's best defender, Dwight Howard.
