How do you record NBA games/highlights on your computer?
Just wanted to know how people are able to make individual game highlight mixes of NBA players and put them on Youtube.
Are they recording from the online NBA League Pass or is there a way to record off of your TV?

I'm guessing people are downloading games from torrents/usenet/other means and then just editing them via iMovie or some shit. I've never made a mix, but that makes the most sense.

Probably off of league pass is the easiest. I guess if you had the right PVR that can transfer recorded television to PC you could, but that doesn't work on every PVR.

Yes you can record them straight to your computer if you feel like taking the time to set it up. Its not terribly complicated but if your computer is shitty its a waste of time. I could probably dig up a guide if you feel like putting in the effort.

Either by downloading Torrents of recorded games or by using a Screencasting program, which basically records everything from your desktop, so essentially all you need is league pass.

I have a hauppauge colossus that I connect to my directv DVD via component cables (HDMI is directly connected to tv from dvr)
For a laptop you might want to look at HD pvr

No,there's hundreds of people who upload videos on YouTube.
At worst your account can be banned.
If you make highlights for personal use (just to be on your computer) then there's nothing that can happen to you.

I think they either download the games, via torrent or whatever, or just get highlights of of youtube and put them in a mix (that's how I used to do it, back when I made some low quality player mixes )
