im rooting for the kid but you are acting silly. guy has a lot of wholes in his game when compared to the all time great guards at a similar age. Guy can't even hit free throws at a respectable rate...I've been following him for years and I'm a huge fan but calm down. ESPN is going to far with the hype...

What is the point of anointing someone "the next Jordan" when people who actually come close (Kobe and Lebron) just end up getting dissed once they reach their peak? Even if Wiggins has a great career people will say he still isn't as good as MJ and will then anoint another HS kid "the next Jordan" 10 years from now.

tbf, there is no guarantee that he will even be the best player to come out in the next 5 years let alone the history of the game.

I know this much in HS Lebron>Wiggins and not even a discussion. Wiggins is not the best thing since sliced bread. I would be shocked if this kid comes right out of HS or 1 yr in college and averages 20 ppg his rookie year.

I agree. He is obviously a great raw talent but I'm not sold on the massive hype either.

I just think the trend of labeling people "the next Jordan" needs to stop when we all know the kid when never get a fair comparison to MJ even if he makes it to that level. MJ had the perfect storybook career and ESPN/sports media took that story and made him a living god. No one will have have the same type of career arch or narrative.
