Seriously.... some people act like:
1. The FMVP is more worthy than the MVP...
2. The FMVP means that player is the best player in that team
Really? The FMVP is battled between 2 teams, 15 players during a span of only 4-7 games!! Which means ANYBODY can win it... you just have to be the most productive player during that microscopical stretch....
during 4 games ANYBODY can be the FMVP..... this is why the FMVP does NOT mean you have been the best player in your team, but the MVP does, it means you have been the best player the entire year.......... instead of a week...
If you dont believe me... take a look at this... and please tell me if they were those teams best players... and that they could also win the actual MVP..
1. James Worthy won the FMVP over Magic & Kareem.. uh oh? James > Magic-Kareem
2. Cedric won the FMVP over Larry Bird... uh oh? Cedric (who u say?) > Bird
3. Chauncey Billups won the FMVP over Hamilton & co...
4. Tony Parker won the FMVP over Tim Duncan...
5. Pierce won the FMVP over Garnett, Allen & co...
6. Joe Dumars won the FMVP over Isiah Thomas...
7. Dennis Johnson won the FMVP over Gus Williams & Sikma
8. Wes Unseld won the FMVP over Elvin Hayes
9. Bill Walton won the FMVP over Maurice Lucas
10. Jo Jo White won the FMVP over Dave Cowens
11. Willis Reed won the FMVP over Walt Frazier, Debbuschere & Earl Monroe
and so on..............
Please... stop overrating this trophy...... its the CHAMPIONSHIP & MVP (BEING THE MAN) that matters... FMVP means NOTHING, it means only that THAT player just so happened to be the most productive in the Finals for the winning team, during a 4-7 game stretch....... nothing more...
