Default All hate aside it's pretty cool to live in this era of basketball

I think we all wonder what it would have been like to live through the 80s Lakers and Celtics dynasties, two absolutely dominant teams. As much as I hate how every season is a given for the Warriors to win, it's pretty cool that I'll be able to say I watched and lived through arguably the greatest single team ever assembled in the history of basketball. It's especially amazing that it happened to the Warriors, a historically shit franchise, and not to Boston, LA, Philly or one of the other big markets.

This.

Now the Greatest Team ever is also making the GSW all-time franchise team Greatest ever in those NBA 2k matchups. You got Curry and Durant bombing from outside and a young Chamberlain terrorizing the interior.

It's pretty cool at times but I think sports leagues benefit most when there's parody present. I mean even a semblance of it would be nice.

We've seen the same finals matchup for 4 straight years and the team who won 3 of those have bolstered their lineup to even greater strengths with thre acquisition of Cuz.

Sure was great watching KD join a 73 win team.

It really is an interesting era. You have a player involved in setting some of the greatest historical records of the league but there are still people in the media calling him a top 5 player.

It is great to be alive in general. But this current era? I will never appreciate KD joining a 73 win team. I don't hate him or them but the only way that I personally could enjoy that team is if I was watching the Celtics beat them in the Finals. It's a video game trade come to life.

I've seen better teams play in the Finals instead of this washed up no defense era....

Pass...

Reminds me of an article right after the finals where the author experiences a meltdown describing how the defense shown at the highest level of the game completely demolished everything he thought he knew.

It's pretty cool to be a basketball fan in this era, as in the age of internet

Us Europeans would be lost without streams.

After Jordan retired, Nba coverage on German TV was absolutely non-existent.

As a kid, I could only follow the Nba through magazines and playstation games

I know it's not your point, but this era with live streams the last 10+ years has been pretty cool ;-)

This.

Durant joining the Warriors made the league way too predictable. Everyone knows the Warriors are just going to win every single year. I haven't been paying attention to the NBA as much the past couple of years and that's probably the reason why. It's just gotten a bit boring when you know who's going to win every year.

Every team that has/had a couple top tier players has had their championships considered illegitimate.
