Favorite Venom

Probably my favorite Kung-fu ever. I love the Venom mob's movies. I own most of them. So who was your favorite Venom.

1. Centipede: Extremely quick. Highly defensive and offensive. Very agile. The Centipede was a straight up killer. Not the brightest but lethal. Since he was #1 thought of as the elder brother, respected.

2. Snake: Very agile. Ability to strike victims like a snake. Immobilizing them. Able to burst organs with strikes. Could fight on his back like a snake. I liked the Snake, even though I though he was the weakest of the 5. Probably because of his background. Out of the group he comes from a rich background. This probably led to his skills being eroded not as sharp as the others. A killer, but more thoughtful than #1.

3. Scorpion: Deceptive. Mostly a leg/kick fighter. Kicks can paralyze. No one knows who he is since none of the other pupils practiced with martial arts at the same time as him.

4. Lizard: Speed and agility. Able to climb walls like a lizard. The sharpest of all of the Venoms.

5. Toad: Not agile. But his skin is like metal. Blows just as powerful. Lo Mang makes this character very likable. A good guy.


Yang Tieh: Not a Venom but the last pupil of the Poison Clan master. His mission is to find the Venoms and find the money that everyone is looking for. Alone he's not skilled enough to defeat the Venoms, but he knows all their attacks. "Poison Clan Rocks the World".


The plot was simple, but different from the typical revenge story in most kung-fu movies. The Venoms movies are great because the actors were either real martial artist or had background in gymnastics which made the fighting more believable. So who was your favorite Venom?

I'm going through my collection and I'll be watching Kid with the Golden Arm soon. Another gem. Lo Mang takes top billing as Golden Arm Kid. His specialties were Taijiquan and Southern Praying Mantis.

Today I should be checking out Crippled Avengers. The Venom Mob as disabled fighters..it's one of my all time favorites.

I've watched quite a few movies out of my collection. I want to recommend this one. Last Hurrah of Chivalry. Directed by John Woo. Good movie. The end fight is kind of weak, but all the other fights are well done. The theme song always touched me. It's deep. Loyalty and friendship. The subtitles are not the best, but adequate. Wei Pei (Snake) is one of the stars.
