You know when the ball gets stuck in between the rim and backboard

Whats the NBA rule if this happens during a game does the person who shot the ball loose or gain the possession ??? maybe a jump ball ???

Good Question but its a jumpball and in college whoever the possesion arrows is pointing to gets it.
