lol kobe haters are always like "shaq carried kobe!!! kobe was just a role player!!! any other player could have stepped in for kobe and they would have three peated!!" and then the kobe stans are like "kobe carried shaq, he was the best player on the team, he was the closer" etc.

people who say either of those things straight up did not watch basketball back then and just look up old game box scores on bball-reference or some shit. if you watched back then, you know it was KOBE AND SHAQ. they were a duo, and they were incredible. most dynamic 1-2 punch in NBA history and they were dominant together. shaq was the most dominant player on the team, but kobe was far from a role player. he was arguably the second best player in the league. the things he used to do to the kings and spurs in the playoffs

pretty sure these weirdos silk the shocker and arbitrary water (who spend way too much time on a message board talking down on players...seriously guys, wtf? prolly more than half your posts focus on dissing players lmao) didnt watch ball back then

Regardless of whether Lebron wins or not; if he simply makes the finals again it would be pretty impressive.

If he makes the finals again that will be 5 finals appearances in 11 seasons. If you discount his first year, where he was the equivalent of a college freshman, Lebron reaches the finals on average, once every two years. That's pretty remarkable given that he was essentially drafted to a d-league squad and wasted 7 years of his career there.

Kobe is great in his own right. However, it's overlooked that Lebron has abused him head to head, and when given competent teammates like Kobe has had the luxury of having for his whole career, has reached the finals every year. Accompany that by Lebron's statistical dominance over Kobe and the obvious physical advantages he has over Kobe, and I think it's a no brainer that he ranks above Kobe on any all time list.

I completely agree about Kobe. He was one of the greatest players of all time, and was incredible throughout those three peats.

He also remains the funnest person to watch when he gets it going. Those streaks he had of 40 point games and 50 point games were just sick. KD may be the more efficient scorer, but nobody got buckets like Kobe when he got rolling.
