What was the point of Lebron coming to Miami?

Maybe he wanted to live in the nicer city all year long. Why not? And don't discount the talent difference, having a Wade is a big deal. You can't aggregate talent, there was nothing on Cleveland that approximated at all a Wade.

Its also a lot easier to recruit from Miami. Look at what happened in 2005. The Cavs had a boatload of money and struck out on Allen, Redd, Joe Johnson.... They ended up signing Hughes and overpaying Big Z, Donyell Marshall, and Damon Jones.

The guy didn't demand a trade, he didn't threaten to stay in school if Cleveland drafted him, etc. He waited until free agency and played with two guys he knew could give him a breather. Lebron leaving wasn't a bad thing. The way he did it, the team visits, the hinting, the primetime special, that was pretty ****ing stupid. (and he paid for it, he got tons of abuse). The actual leaving via FA, anyone who criticizes that is not being reasonable because we all want players to come to our team, not to be loyal and not leave.

I also want people to honestly say "i would give up a better (at worst equal) situation in Miami because i want to live in Cleveland". Say that out loud over and over and tell me how it sounds.
