James Avery (Uncle Phil) passes away at 65.

Saw an article a couple years ago that says he was suffering from diabetes with eye & foot disease(circulation issues).

A photo of him with a cane shows that he may have been blind or partially blind & probably in danger of amputation.


He was trying to spread the word about diabetes & the dangers (blindness, amputations due to circulation & kidney failure)of not taking care of this illness like he admits he hadn't with his.


I knew someone younger(family friend) who went blind, had leg amputated below knee(threatening to amputate oppposite leg) & was on kidney dialysis 3 days per week. He was miserable(near suicidal) & we were relieved for him when he passed away.

damn, was he overweight too ?

I was just watching AVGN's retrospective on the turtles cartoon, and I looked up who voiced Shredder because it sounded so familiar. When the video ended I came here and saw this. Sucks, he was great on Fresh Prince.

wow, Fresh Prince was one of my fav shows. Uncle Phil was awesome.
