Or for them to fire their coach five games into the season and hire a coach who is arguably the worst possible fit (with his system) for an older team. Still can't believe they hired D'Antoni to implement his run-and-gun system with a Lakers roster better suited playing more of a slow-tempo halfcourt game. And the bad fit has been even more magnified with the number of bad defenders playing for a coach who doesn't give a shit about defense. Kobe, who even in his later years could be a really good defender at times, has turned into a horrible lazy defensive player.

I actually did, Gasol already disappeared in 2 straight playoffs and was garbage for 2 years, Laker fans once again overhyped him as a Top 5 PF. I wanted them to trade him since 2011. Howard was coming off major back surgery and a doctor in the gym told me he won't be the same. Without the shooters from Orlando, he was bound to underperform.
Re: Magic trade Dwight Howard to Lakers in 4-team deal
Reading some of the Antawn Jamison talk the last few pages and wanted to compare some of the optimism to his season averages so far. And I'll admit, I thought he'd be pretty good for them off the bench. Maybe something like 11-12 PPG, 6-7 RPG. Unfortunately, his horrendous defense and Jordan Hill (when healthy) just being a better player right now have kept his minutes down and role very limited.

D'Antoni's system did make sense for this team. Nash is on it and they have a lot to fit in. They have Howard on the team. Problem is that Howard isn't healthy and that they're waiting around too long to trade Gasol. As soon as they got Howard they should have considered trading Gasol. The minute they fired Brown they should have looked to move Gasol.
Nash can handle the running and so can Bryant. The problem is that the team is not well integrated and they're trying to do too much with a small window.
Gasol HAS TO GO. The longer you wait around the worse you make it on your team.
Re: Dwightmare talks back again. ORL LAL PHL DEN in talks
Its funny, all this time we thought 76ers made out with the best trade when really, if they kept Iggy, Vucevic, and Harkless, they would be a real threat out in the East. And Orlando really didn't get as bad of a trade as we all thought, they are gonna have a high pick this draft and have a decent amount of young players.
