So, Rondo is having a better season than George Hill?

Hill just cost his team a game against a playoff rival with poor defence. Probably not the best guy to make your argument for you

No doubt in my mind Hill is playing better than Rondo this year, but Rondo is clearly playing injured

Might be missing a couple.
Kemba Walker
Avery Bradley when he plays the 1
Isaiah Thomas
Jose Calderon was much better for the Mavs
Brandon Knight is having a better season
Aaron Brooks has a bigger impact on his team
Brandon Jennings
Patrick Beverley's defense and shooting in better than everything Rondo does right now
Tyreke Evans has been a PG in Jrue's absence and is a lot better
Elfrid Payton has done better this year
D.J. Augustin
I mean, it's easier to name PG's Rondo's better than tbh.

Re: is Rondo an elite (meaning top 5) PG?
Nope. At one time, I thought CP3 and Rondo were the best floor generals in the league in terms of dropping dimes-making teammates better. Rondo at his best was a top 2-3 passing PG, defensive PG, and rebounding PG. He was never an elite scoring PG. So when his floor game isn't as effective as it needs to be, he falls WAY BACK in the pack of PG's. When his floor game was on point, he was a top 10 PG. Even though many PG's could score better, he was a pass first PG who could dominate passing, defensively, and rebounding.

Re: is Rondo an elite (meaning top 5) PG?
Top 5 is an impossible argument to make right now or else I would, believe me. I'm still holding out hope that things improve with Dallas or next season he goes to a team that he works well on other than LA.

Mavs fans are currently yearning for the "glory days" of Jameer Nelson. That should say it all right there.

I agree! When Kidd went to Dallas near the end of his career, he didn't have the ball in his hands as much. But he still managed to get 8-9 dimes a night. And he improved his outside shooting enough to be viable. Plus he was big enough to guard SG's and SF's in addition to PG's.
Rondo simply hasn't been able to have that kind of impact. He got to dominate the ball more in Boston. I also hope he can fit in and come close to the impact Kidd had on Dallas. If not, it would be best for him to move on.

Not even top 10. Never has been even a top 5 player. He has a very negative value when he doesn't have the ball, he's a dick, and he can't shoot well enough.
