im gonna speculate that it was some sort of drug and alcohol issue

x game dudes break all their bones and probably get perscribed tons of pain killers so he was familiar to the game

he is a risk taker thrill seeker and now when he is middle aged and doesn't have competitive riding as an outlet for and has tons of money and time on his hands, he probably got into drinking and doing drugs

thats the only reason I could see

i suspect it could be a few of the following reasons.

-domestic problems
-drug problems
-emotional problems
-falling off with friends (he went to visit his old friends)
-money problems.


could be a culmination of a few of those things.
