Amare is an incapable defender. So no, he's not nearly as good a defender as Gasol is now, much less when Gasol is locked in.

You can't use blocks as evidence and then discredit them for the other guy.

    Also, Cousins is a monster.

Amare sucks at defense but is amazing at offense. His defense wouldn't matter much on LA because Dwight would cover his holes.

cousins is a piece of trash who should be on a street corner.

and gasol is the lion from the wizard of oz....no heart... no passion...no fire. his defense reflects that.

    Bench Pau and Nash, seriously.
Howard, Jamison, MWP, Bryant & Morris
Gasol, Hill, Meeks, Blake & Nash

You all saw how dominant he was in the Olympics with Navarro at the point; give him back the post-play and watch him excel. It's funny how everyone's bashing the guy yet none of you realize that Bynum's emergence and Howard's acquisition literally made the guy play outside his comfort zone.

We're asking him to stretch the floor when his bread and butter is low-post scoring. Just because he's adequate at hitting a jumper, doesn't mean he'll be as effective as he can be down low.

Bring him off the bench, ignite bench productivity and let Nash feed him the ball. Howard & Bryant will be more dominant without Gasol & Nash as their security blankets on the floor. And it's not like they can't finish games together all of them.

And no thanks, Amare can stay in New York.

Amare is constantly injured, doesn't play any defense and his offensive game has regressed. I used to be a big Amare supporter, but facts are facts there's always something up with his knees. I disgree that him and Melo are a bad fit, the reason they didn't work last year was because Amare had no one to get him the ball and D'Antoni decided to turn Melo into a point forward
As long as Kidd stays the the starting lineup I can see Melo and Amare coexisting, but the problem is that Amare still can't play D.

I agree with you and disagree with the guy who called you a ****ing retard. It's worth trying and you'd have a great second unit and as you said, they can all close out games.
