So you're comparing Kobe at 34 to Jordan at 40 based on the number of years Kobe will have played at that time? In that case do you feel that 2013-14 will be among Bron's last successful NBA years considering he played 2 sports in HS, entered the league at 17 and will have played 11 pro years by then?

Yep. Just look at how KG (or, for a stronger but more extreme example, TMac) has broken down, despite never having had any major injuries and being in great shape. It's just too much wear and tear on the body.

those 3 wouldn't be in the top 3. I'm guessing Wade will be hit my injuries by then and won't be the same player he is today, Kobe will be getting old and Bargnani won't never be a top 10 player but he should be a good player. Brandon Roy and Derrick Rose are questionable. Some players who will be getting drafted in the the next years will fill those ranks.

Per is purely an offensive tool. Even Hollinger it's creator acknowledges this.. People who use PER to determine the defensive abilities of a given player know nothing about how defense works or how that particular formula is supposed to work.

Also, he's a perimeter player so I wouldn't expect his best defensive moments to be shot blocking. Where are the steals and hard nosed perimeter defensive plays and tough aggressive defense that you see out of guys like Kobe, Bron, Wade and Melo?

The best you could come up with is a couple of blocks against NBA midgets like Aaron Brooks and TJ Ford?
