I remember back when that case was going on. A whole bunch of reporters said that the rape case would help Kobe's street cred.

Bayless and Smith make their living pushing the controversy as far as they can. Sometimes they step over the line. Bayless maybe crossed the line hear, but in a small way. He didn't condone rape here, and may not have to apologize to anyone. But it was too dumb a comment to be worth risking trouble for. It's not thought-provoking, deep, funny, or anything. Just kind of weird.
