Re: 65 assists and 5 turnovers in the last 5 games
Kidd was a great player one of the best perimeter defenders in his prime and a better overall defender than CP (tho CP has his advantages). Im a big fan but outside of longevity Kidd has no argument over CP. On offense CP has a gigantic advantage almost everywhere. The scoring and shooting especially,
CP is the best midrange shooter in the league this season on insane percentages and volume and hes assisted on it LESS than pretty much every player. Kidd couldnt pull up and knock down shots like that to pressure defenses, he made his money in transition. CPs way better in halfcourt, the pickandroll, could score from anywhere, much better slasher, better ballhandler, takes care of it better etc.

a high impact player, sure - until the playoffs where he's no longer the best regular season pg.
rpm won't tell you that. the eye test will.
shifting through the bullshit
I'll agree that he isnt a good enough scorer to carry his teams in the post season when most of his guys really cant be relied upon to score for themselves. It's why "pure" point guards usually dont make much noise on their own.

cp-midget has never made the finals despite playing with better players & teams.
kidd, who made b2b finals, was (at least) a top 5 impact player with the likes of kg, duncan, & shaq - better players than anyone today, aside from lebron. obviously.

Implying that Jason Kidd beat anyone worth mentioning on his way to the Finals or in the finals?

That's only because he played in the weak east where you can get to the finals and conference finals by beating sub 50 win teams that wouldn't even make the playoffs in the west.
When Kidd played in the west he either missed the playoffs or lost in the 1st round in his first 7 straight seasons. The very next season he gets traded to the east and goes to the finals. That's not a coincidence.
It's not rocket science. You're way more likely to make a deep playoff run facing 38-44 win teams in the east than 56-62 win teams in the west.

This. I wonder what would happen to CP career had he been drafted by the Hawks or the Bucks

Re: 65 assists and 5 turnovers in the last 5 games
Kidd does seem to get overrated, people rip on Westbrook for his FG% yet Kidd is a 40% shooter in the regular season and 39% in the playoffs, for his career. And that's while taking 7-8 less shots.
Paul is definitely a better overall player, playoff success in the weak East is irrelevant.

the best pg since magic can't even land a wcf berth?
zeke, gp, kidd, and nash are all better and have actually lead their team somewhere.

Hi, I remember Stockton is part of the modern era, too.
Only clear cases over CP3 are Stock and Zeke.
Rest are debatable, IMO.

Toss in 11 steals as well.
13:1 Ast:To Ratio
2.2:1 Steal:To Ratio

And I'm a huge Jason Kidd fan, but CP3 is a more complete player.

Jason Kidd was a winner and a leader of men. CP3 is a statpadder.
