Durant is not winning an MVP title anytime soon. The scoring title is reserved for him.

I think Dirk could be up there with Howard and Durant. He has shed away the label that was built up after the 2007 disaster and is being highly praised right now. It'll come down to overall record, I reckon. That might turn out to be D12's biggest problem.

Lol, it would be basically the team with the best record. Whoever is the best player on that team.. And then MVP.

I don't think either Knicks or Heat will have a player winning the MVP. It is hard to win MVP when you already have a co-star along your side. And by co-star I mean another star that is just as good as the other star, doesn't mean a very good 2nd option or anything. I guess that is why Durant didn't get too many votes this season. It is pretty much a penalty.

The Heat would have to win 70 for Lebron to get MVP next year if they are remotely healthy.

Eh unlike with Lebron and Wade Carmelo is very clearly the first option and better player. If he blows up in D'Antoni's system I could see him being a candidate.

Actually I kind of thought it was bogus that Lebron and Wade weren't candidates since they both had great seasons.

    1. Kevin Durant
    2. Dwight Howard
    3. Kobe Bryant

My top 3 for MVP rankings next season

I don't see Kobe in the top 5 for mvp next season, let alone top 3. It will not go to Dwight either if he is with Orlando, won't have a good enough record. Durant/Rose/Dirk I think have the best shot. No matter how well Miami do, I don't think they would give it to Lebron/Wade. Depends on their record and stats I suppose.
