jump shots can't always fall, but lay ups and dunks have 90% of going in. only way KD can stop Lebron is to foul him every time.

The debate about who is a better basketball player is a hot one right now, and I've been back-and-forth on it all season, but I find it VERY obvious that Durant is a better 1on1 player.

NBATV poll result, very close as you can see. Inclined to agree, but I wouldn't bet a dime on it.

in all honesty.. lebron has a tough time getting by people without a gap or running start...

he would not be good at 1 on 1 cause everything would be an iso face up or post up with nobody to pass to. and when lebrons foot work fails him. then hes doomed. no way out of it

the key to 1 on 1 is the amount of distance a player must give a guy out top... nobody ( unless they have way more superior speed ) can face guard within arms length outside of 20 feet and not get blown by with correct foot work...

lebron would not be able to guard kd's threes.. infact neither guy would..

it would come down to whos knocking down more shots and who has better foot work.

lebron would be forced to just try and post up all day. and his 1 move special ( the over the top left handed bank from 5 feet ) would not get it done enough times to win

ontop of all this kd is a pure scorer whos longer and has more 1 on 1 moves

kd should win... but he could lose

i'd give it to durant 6 games out of 10

    Gotta go with KD.

KD has the better stroke and length which means he is a lot better at getting his shot off 1 on 1, he also has great handles and if Lebron presses up on KD too much he will drive around him. KD would gamble on letting Lebron shoot from outside since his shot isn't as strong and would use his length to make up the distance he would give Lebron enticing him to shoot. Its very obvious that KD is better 1 on 1 as witnessed by their latest encounters with Lebron refusing to take him on, but Lebron has a high IQ and often uses a pick to get the switch to get someone else guarding him.

5 on 5 is a completely different argument though.

LeBron is honesty not that great of a 1on1 player. He has become good 1on1 in the post the last few seasons, but he lacks the quickness, crossover ability, and midrange pullup to be very dominant 1on1 from the perimeter. It's KD by a wide margin.

The thing is LeBron is better than KD at everything to do with a basketball game other than 1on1 skills.

Defense is a much bigger factor 1on1 than offense is.

Why do so many people care about 1 on 1 skills? Makes no sense. Jamal Crawford would probably beat D-Wade 1-on-1. So what?
