Some interesting Curry stats...
A few posters, including myself have mentioned Curry to be one of the best passers in the league, top 5 at the very least. Apparently this is a laughable statement according to some. Currently Curry leads the league in hockey assists with 69, with the second and third best players being Tony Parker and Jeff Teague with 50 and 46 each.
He is also currently 10th in the league in assists, despite being 6th last year. Guys like Thomas, Harden, Green, Lillard ahead of him who clearly aren't better passers. Then you're left with guys like Westbrook, Wall, Rondo, Rubio and Paul, who he is probably in the conversation with.
When you couple the fact that he plays less minutes than all these guys, on top of his raw stats, and the fact that he is way ahead on hockey assists, is it really laughable to consider him a top 3 passer in the league? Especially if you watch the games and see some of the highlight passes he pulls off.
Another thing about his defense.
Constantly said on here he is a bad defender. All this despite being 2nd in steals overall, 15th in defensive win shares, 2nd on the Warriors in defensive win shares, having a positive +/- in terms of defense, and the Warriors are 9.2 points per 100 possessions better defensively when he is on the court.
Does that sound like a bad defender? Sounds like one of the best at his position to me.
So what exactly are his weaknesses?

Curry is great at playing the passing lanes and overall team defense. He understands positioning extremely well. He's just not a lockdown one on one defender, which is really not that huge of a deal especially on the current Warriors. Him not guarding the opposing starting pg has more to do with Kerr not wanting him to expand a lot of energy on defense, because their whole strategy is to outscore teams, which they do easily with Curry having the greatest offensive season of all time.

I thought most people here thought he was a great passer
But if hes not a bad defender why does Kerr always hide him on some scrub?

Curry gives up 0.6ppp per isolation play as the primary defender.
which is excellent, and he is in that position the second most on his team, behind only draymond.
0.6ppp is good for 90th percentile

This. Westbrook however is a real matchup nightmare for Curry when he takes him in the post.
