That's what I was gonna say, aren't they doing 1-3 by records, and then division winner gets the 4th seed if their record isn't better than the three teams ahead of them? Thought I read that somewhere preseason.

No that is what I always check. But I was questioning whether the explanation of Toronto wanting the third seed and Washington as 6th was correct or not, and seeing those standings made me worried. I just thought I'd make a thread about it anyway.

like i said some times they mix it up during updates, so yea ur rite Raptors would be in 3rd and Wash would be 6th
I never check NBA.com anymore. The only thing that it is good for is articles. In terms of updating, they suck. The scores are way slower than on espn.com, and the standings take ages..

I think you are correct, a division winner with a bad record will at least be ranked 4th in the conference for play off purposes
